Srinagar (KNO) : Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir strongly condemns the gruesome and brutal murder of the esteemed editor-in-chief of the daily Rising Kashmir along with his two personal security guards.

This is a brutal attempt to scuttle the voice of the people and as such a gross violation of the fundamental right of the freedom of speech. The media represents the voice of the common masses, mostly those who suffer at the hands of the tyrant and autocratic rulers and to kill a media person, in whatever capacity, tantamount to choking the genuine cause of the masses.

The impartial media persons have always been a target of the oppressors so as to discourage the publication of the real situation in a society, region or country. Islam, which is the real champion of all the fundamental human rights always encourages the fair critical analysis and safeguards the freedom to express the wishes and aspirations of a society. So for those who love Islam can never encourage any such activity which violates any of the fundamental rights of a human being. Jama’at-e-Islami believing in Islam to be the exclusive and perfect code of the human life always condemns such brutal acts which take away any innocent life.

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir while paying great tributes to the noble services of Shuja’at Bukhari in the field of journalism, on behalf of Ameer Jama’at and all its functionaries expresses its solidarity with the bereaved family and relatives at this gloomy juncture.
